Did you know that your skin is the LARGEST organ you have? I didn’t, but a few years ago I started noticing my skin making changes for the worse so I decided to educate myself. My skin is nowhere near perfect, YET, but here are a few tips I have been living by that I have seen results with!
Stick to a routine: Consistency is key! Just like like how you get used to having a sleep schedule or eating schedule, your skin needs a schedule too. Create a routine when it comes to your skin care and stick to it. The only way to see results is to be consistent.
Listen to your skin: As the weather and environment around us changes, so does our skin’s needs. Assess your skin when you notice changes and treat based on what you notice.
Don’t over exfoliate: Over exfoliating can lead to skin damage/peeling. Pay attention to how your skin responds to exfoliating and proceed with caution. I exfoliate gently with my facial brush and once a week with a scrub or exfoliating spray.
Protect yoself: Protect your skin from outside elements like the SUN! Sunscreen is VERY important, this is a lesson I have learned the hard way! Always wear sunscreen and REAPPLY if you are out in the sun for long amounts of time.
Use Paper Towels: I am a slight germaphobe when it comes to bacteria on things that I use on my skin. That being said, I decided a few years back to switch from using a face rag to dry my face to using paper towels. Whenever I wash my face I use a sheet of paper towel to pat my face dry. It is one time use (which isn’t recycle friendly) but one time use = LESS BACTERIA and healthy skin!
Keep your skin clean: Don’t let sweat and germs sit on your skin for too long. letting all that gunk fester will lead to clogged pores and pimples. Also make sure if you do use a face towel that you are switching it out regularly and same goes for your pillowcases!
Facial Brush: Adding a facial brush to my skincare routine has definitely improved my skin’s texture. My skin feels smoother and looks better even when I wear makeup. I suggest adding a facial brush to your routine. If you’re not so much into the traditional spin facial brush maybe try holisticbeauties.com BFF. BFFs are easy to clean and won’t hold on to bacteria when drying because it doesn’t have traditional bristles!
Have patience: Patience is key! Give your skin time to heal. With consistency and time, your skin will most definitely improve!

And that’s all I have for you guys today! I hope at least one of these tips will help you out. Below is a short tutorial of my skincare routine! Not every step I have listed above is shown in the video but they are still apart of my everyday routine. This journey to being a glass skin having bitch is a long and tedious one but it’ll DEFINITELY be worth it!
