For years I strayed away from twit outs because my fine curly hair didn't like them. I would always end up with limp stringy curls. After years and years of searching, I finally found a routine that works for me! Here are my tips for getting a perfect twist out! These tips are mostly for fine hair curls, but you're more than welcome to try if your hair is thicker!

  1. Start with clean dry hair. Dry hair makes it easier to dry and gives your curls that carefree curl I want. This also makes my twist out more elongated.

  2. Try to keep it to one products. Using more than one product can weigh your curls down, giving you that "stringy" look. Ive been using creams/butters for my twist outs and they give me the best results!

  3. Pick your pattern before you start twisting, this will help with giving you more volume. For example, if your hair seems to have less volume in certain places, do smaller twists or add flat twists in that section to give an illusion of more volume.

  4. Let your hair dry FULLY! This is VERY important! If you don't let it dry, you WILL get frizz when separating your curls!

  5. Use an oil to put in and take down the twists. Using an oil will eliminate frizz and give your hair a subtle glow!

I hope these tips help! They've definitely helped me form into a TWISTOUT QUEEN! If you use any of my tips, post on IG and tag me using #SydSmilessHelped.

  • This is the oil I used to prevent frizz. I like this oil because it smells AMAZING and is super light weight so no stringy curls!
